Trauma

Experiencing (or witnessing) catastrophe, combat, injury, or potentially life-threatening events that overwhelmed our ability to cope or escape can temporarily affect anyone. Even emotionally healthy and resilient people can have symptoms that last for weeks or months, as the brain works hard to master that experience.

However tragic, a traumatic exposure need not prevent you from having a meaningful life here and now. Our human minds, brains, and bodies are designed to recover – to be able to have another, if different, well-lived next phase of life.

What is helpful to the mind/body may differ from person to person. With your circumstances, recovery work may or may not require remembering or reliving the experience. We work with your specific circumstances and needs to build and support your self-strength. (See Improvement Processes.)

Call me to discuss the traumas and problems with which you are struggling.
